Congratulations!

It would be fair to say that so far my blogging attempts have been less than impressive....in fact downright useless. But I am hoping to change that from now, and have tabled some time into the diary so that I can update regular news on this blog to let everyone know what is happening at York Remedial Therapies at the moment.

So, without further ado, my first shout out needs to go to Laura Makin!
She came to York Remedial Therapies back in March, struggling with bike rides over 50miles in distance – and having already signed up for the London to Paris bike ride in June (500km in 4days) she knew that she needed to do something to get her body performing to the levels needed for this Charity challenge. With a structured programme of exercises, advice on training strategies, and some basic “do’s and don’ts” Laura completed the challenge in smooth style. In fact, the week before the challenge she decided to do a 120mile bike ride from York to Filey and back just to prove that she was ready! So in the space of just 4months she went from struggling to do 50mile rides, to finding that anything less was just not worth it. Well done Laura! I hear that next year it’s going to be either a triathlon, or a jungle trek up Machu Pichu?

Next shout goes to Paul!
Our very own running star, who has also just completed the Jane Tomlinson 10k race in York in a personal best time of under 47mins. Paul joined us in April with serious ITB and quads pains kicking in at the 2 to 3mile mark. Obviously this was going to be a problem for running a 10k race, but like Laura he has turned around his training regieme, worked hard at the stretches and exercises we gave him, and in the space of just 3months can now comfortably run not only further than before, but with a better stride and importantly it is pain free.

Well done both of you!
